Ron Paul Rally a Success!

I would like to thank everyone for your help in making the “Hope for America” Rally in Atlanta a big success. We estimated around 450 attended the event at the Georgia state capitol. A special thanks to Ron;s son Rand Paul for driving from Kentucky to speak to us. I think Rand has a great political future ahead of him if he ever considers running for public office. The fruit doesn’t fall far from the tree. Here are a couple of photos of the event. jb

Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year!

Grinch

I joined my friends Matt, Robby and Chell in decorating this tree for a fundraising event at the Atlanta History Museum. The tree dominated the room as most other entries were elegant and traditional. The theme of course was “The Grinch who stole Christmas” complete with a full size Grinch. It won 1st place! I hope the money raised brought  joy to a child this Christmas. And that will be the best gift of all! Pray for Peace.. JB

An Open Letter to Neal Boortz

 Boortz

Georgia blogger Jason Pye confronts radio talk show host and “High Priest of the Church of the Painful Truth” Neal Boortz about his willingness to abandon his principles to “endorse” presidential candidate Michael Huckabee because of his support of the “FairTax”. Boortz is also willing to through Ron Paul ($6 Million Man) under the bus because Neal feels the libertarian policy of non-interventionism is tantamount to being weak on terrorism. My question to Boortz is; When you joined the Libertarian Party did you not understand it’s position on “nation building” and imperialism? Ok, I know Boortz is all about ego, ratings and driving traffic to his web site. He is willing to say what ever it takes to piss you off. Fortunately, outside of the FairTax issue, Boortz has little clout or influence on Ameican politics. Neal wants to be so relevant! JB

Jason Pye writes: Mr. Boortz, I am writing this letter as a plea for you to reconsider your support for Mike Huckabee candidacy for Republican nomination for President.

Handgun Ban in Athens Parks

I don’t understand why politicians continue to try to ban law-abiding citizens from carrying fire arm protection. Recently, there have been 2 armed robberies at the Arbor Place Mall in Douglasville, GA. The last time I went shopping there, the security guards were not armed and only carry a radio on their belts. I’m sorry to inform mall security that robbers are not afraid of radios. While they also may not be afraid of bullets, a dead armed robber is a good thing. If robbers knew citizens were carrying a gun they just might think twice about thugin’. I guess if we are attacked in the park, they want us to call 911. I guess it’s easier to pick up bodies than to prevent crime. I hope this the litigants will be successful! JB

Lawyers for a gun-rights group will try to convince a judge next month to strike down an Athens-Clarke law banning guns in parks.

A hearing is scheduled Jan. 4 before Clarke County Superior Court Judge Steve Jones on whether state law allows the Athens-Clarke County government to restrict where people can carry guns.

From Rep. Ron Paul - The Six Million Dollar Man

Ron Paul

December 17, 2007

What a day! I am humbled and inspired, grateful and thrilled for this vast outpouring of support.

On just one day, in honor of the 234th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party, the new American revolutionaries brought in $6.04 million, another one-day record. The average donation was $102; we had 58,407 individual contributors, of whom an astounding 24,915 were first-time donors. And it was an entirely voluntary, self-organized, decentralized, independent effort on the internet. Must be the “spammers” I keep hearing about!

Ron Paul 2008 – Hope for America Rally - Atlanta

Here is my next political project… A rally for Presidential Candidate Ron Paul. JB

Ron Paul 2008 – Hope for America Rally - Atlanta

December 17, 2007 -Atlanta GA: The Georgia State Capitol will be the location for the Ron Paul 2008 “Hope for America” Rally, Saturday, February 2, 2008, at 12:00 Noon, hosted by The Georgia Coalition for Ron Paul 2008.

James Bell, organizer of the “Super Saturday” event said he is overwhelmed by the popularity of Dr. Ron Paul in Georgia. “This event will give supporters, from all over the southeast, an opportunity to share the hope we see in the principles and leadership of Ron Paul”, Bell said.

Paul’s campaign spokesman late Sunday announced the campaign had eclipsed the $5.7 million that John Kerry raised the day after he locked up the 2004 Democratic presidential nomination – arguably the largest single-day fundraising haul in U.S. political history. Read more »

LIBERTARIANS WOULD TAKE PAUL

Bob Barr What is Bob Barr and the LNC thinking? They should respect Congressman Dr. Ron Paul enough to at least wait until after Super Tuesday to make such a public proposal. He has done pretty well over the past 20 years without LP influence. Out of desperation to generate media attention, the LNC risk painting Dr. Paul as “the loser”, just weeks before the voting begins. LNC should be focused on those who have announced they will seek the LP nomination, and not trying to undermine Ron Paul’s credibility. Why can’t we as the Libertarian Party make our own news instead of trying to steal the thunder from others? At this point, the LP label is a liability not an asset to Dr. Paul. While George Phillies and Steve Kubby may not be the most impressive presidential candidates, at least they are real candidates with a real message of liberty. The LNC should be focused on how they intend to capitalize the Ron Paul Revolution and the tens of thousands of Ron Paul revolutionaries who may still be “politically homeless” after the ’08 election.

My advise to LNC: Some things are better kept behind closed doors. “Lose lips… sink ships”

What do you think about this effort by the LNC? jb

IF GOP SAYS NO LIBERTARIANS WOULD TAKE PAUL

December 10, 2007: Independent-minded Texas Rep. Ron Paul could have a second chance to get on the ballot next November, even if he fails at his long-shot bid for the GOP nomination. The Libertarian Party is urging Paul to seek its nomination and win a place on the ballot next November. Read more »
